Hey, Bastard! Band Bio

Hey, Bastard! formed in 2006, in the ‘armpit of America’, Terre Haute, Indiana. It was two dudes living in a shitty apartment, with just guitars. After several cassette tape demos, the 2 guys recorded a 3 song demo at Burning Bridge Recordings in May of 2006. The band uploaded the songs on Myspace, reaching 1,000 plays the first day the songs were posted. A couple member adds/changes, and what not, solidified them into a solid 4 piece band. From then on, with constant performances and promotion, the band gained a following, while traveling about half the United States so far. Yeah dude!

In October of 2008, Hey, Bastard! rocked out 11 tracks in seven days, completing the full length album entitled ‘WRECKS.’ They recorded it @ At 37 Studios (See You Next Tuesday, Chiodos) with producer and friend Matt Dalton. The album was mastered by Joel Lauver @ Burning Bridge Recordings (Haste the Day, Trenches, Anapparatus). Along with the new full length, they released a self filmed dvd called ‘Vacations’, taken from tours and recording in the studio.

To sum this up, Indiana boys called Hey, Bastard! just want to play rock ‘n’ roll for the entire world and party the whole time.

Hey, Bastard! Band Review:

“When I first heard Hey Bastard! I immediately recognized the sound as southern post-hardcore, a genre that – quite frankly – rarely gets the attention that it deserves from talented artists. This band is doing it right, though. It’s not so much about looking or acting the part for them. It’s all about LIVING it. And they do that to a “T.”

Their stage presence is great. Their riffs are twangy, hard-hitting, and flow perfectly from straight rock to metal to damn near country. And with the addition of a new vocalist, I can only imagine that Hey Bastard! will quickly rise to the top.

All I ask, should you decide to sign these guys, is that you don’t f**k up their sound by making it too perfect, because Hey Bastard! sounds best when they’re rough around the edges.”

‘WRECKS!’ (FULL LENGTH ALBUM) Review:

“With the current trend towards watered down deathcore and bullshit synth Pop, it was a breath of dirty, raunchy air to hear some good old fashioned ROCK N’ ROLL! They really hit the spot with their ability to be catchy without being boring or overtly repetitive. Another highlight is their penchant for listener participation with sing alongs that can get even the hardest of cynics to want to drink, fight, fuck and Rock. Overall I think that this is the best weve heard from these guys so far. I give “Wrecks” a 4 out of 5. Good Job boys, keep it dirty!”
